Sir Kendal G. L. Isaacs
Sir Kendal George Lamon Isaacs was born on July 23rd 1925 and was the13th child of his parents Adolphus and Julia Isaacs. In 1942 Kendal G.L. Isaacs graduated from The Government High School in 1942 as head boy, the. At 19 he joined The Bahamas Battalion, North Caribbean region as a cadet officer and was trained In Kingston, Jamaica. He was discharged at the rank of lieutenant at the end of World War II In 1946 he entered queens college, Cambridge graduating in 1949 as a Bachelor of Arts and bachelor of law. He was called to the English bar on june 21st 1950 and then The Bahamas bar on July 4th In 1963 he became the attorney general of The Bahamas and in the same year he attended the constitutional conference in London as the Governor's advisor. And then in 1964 he became a Supreme Court judge. From 1966 to 1971 Kendal G.L Isaacs did everything from serving as Vice President of the senate, becoming the queens counsel,president of The Bahamas bar association, president of The Bahamas mental health association,director of the bank of Montreal , director of The Bahamas supermarkets ltd. In 1970 he was made the commander of the order of the British empire and in 1972 he was elected member of parliament for the fort Montagu constituency under the free national movement Sir Kendal Isaacs was well known for his sporting interests in track and field, soccer,rugby,basketball,cricket golf and his favorite tennis. Sir Kendal Isaacs also has a gymnasium named after him.
